CellPrime® rAlbumin AF-S is a 10% solution produced without the use of any animal or human derived ingredients. This eliminates concerns about the possible presence of adventitious agents such as viruses or other infectious agents of animal or human origin. It is ideally suited for media development, optimization or supplementation and is a substitute for human serum albumin in instances where animal-free conditions are required.
Features
- Animal-free
- Replacement for animal derived albumin
- Recombinant – expressed in Saccharomyces cerevisiae
- No detectable proteolytic activity
- Low fatty acid
- Formulated for cell culture applications
Animal-Free definition
We use a five-point definition of the term animal-free for its biologically based cell culture supplements. There are no animal-origin components in the:
- Master Cell Bank (MCB)
- Working Cell Bank (WCB)
- Raw materials
- Manufacturing process
- Final product
Benefits
- Animal-free manufacturing
- Simplifies and facilitates regulatory issues and export and import issues
- Recombinant manufacturing provides consistency and reliable supply
- Large batch and pack sizes facilitate use in biomanufacturing
- Formulated for cell culture applications
