Background InformationAcute phase proteins (APPs) constitute an integral part of the innate immune response, exhibiting significant alterations in their serum/plasma or milk concentrations in response to inflammation, infection, or trauma. This group of proteins includes Fibrinogen and Haptoglobin (Hp) which play pivotal roles in immune response, and are frequently studied as biomarkers of systemic inflammation and disease.

Application Notes• This is an overnight incubation assay.
• This assay requires 25 μL per well of 1:100,000 diluted bovine serum or plasma, or 1:50,000 diluted bovine milk.
• For baseline Haptoglobin levels, the recommended dilution is 1:4,000 for serum/plasma and 1:20 for milk.
• NOTE: Fibrinogen is a plasma-specific protein and is removed from serum by depletion of clotting factors. Therefore, the use of serum samples is NOT recommended for fibrinogen detection.
