Acts as a potent, heat-stable, specific, and non-competitive inhibitor of PP2A (Ki = 30 nM with myelin basic protein, histone H1, or phosphorylase as substrates for PP2A). Does not inhibit PP1, PP2B, or PP2C, or pyruvate dehydrogenase phosphatase.

      DescriptionRecombinant, human PP2AI I1 fused to GST and expressed in E. coli. Acts as a potent, heat-stable, specific and non-competitive inhibitor of protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A; Ki = 30 nM with myelin basic protein as the substrate). Inhibits PP2A with myelin basic protein, histone H1, or phosphorylase as substrates, but not with casein as the substrate. Does not inhibit PP1, PP2B, or PP2C, or pyruvate dehydrogenase phosphatase. I1PP2A may be equivalent to PHAP-1 (putative histocompatibility leukocyte antigens class II-associated protein I).
