      Overview

      Replacement Information
      Description
OverviewProtein Kinase C Selectide™ Substrate has been developed to overcome difficulties that can arise from using non-specific substrates when assaying PKC activity in crude cell extracts. Structurally, Protein Kinase C Selectide™ Substrate is based on the sequence of neurogranin, a naturally-occurring PKC substrate. Protein Kinase C Selectide™ Substrate (Km = 100 - 150 nM) allows the measurement of PKC activity, even in crude cell extracts.

SynonymsProtein Kinase C Selectide™ Substrate, Neurogranin 28-43, AAKIQASFRGHMARKK
DescriptionMeasurement of PKC activity is typically assayed in vitro using substrates, such as purified enzymes, naturally occurring proteins (i.e. histone H1), cell extracts or synthetic peptides. PKC Selectide™ Substrate has been developed to overcome difficulties that can arise from using non-specific substrates when assaying PKC activity in crude cell extracts. Structurally, PKC Selectide™ Substrate corresponds to residues 28-43 of neurogranin, a naturally occurring PKC substrate. PKC Selectide™ Substrate allows selective measurement of PKC versus other kinases, even in crude cell extracts (Km = 100-150 nM).
