イソプロピルアルコール（IPA、2-プロパノール、イソプロパノール）は、甘い匂いのする水溶性の脂肪族アルコールです。その芳香性から日本の食品に使用される真菌である、Tricholoma matsutakeの産生する揮発性の香料化合物の1つです。IPAはまた、レモンエッセンス中の主要な香料成分です。

Application

Isopropyl alcohol has been used:
  • in oil red O staining of the adipocytes to dissolve the stain and extract the stain from the cell
  • as a component of the saponification and acetylacetone reagent and to prepare triglyceride standard stock solution to extract liver triglyceride (TG)
  • to flush through the microfluidic device before experiments to effectively remove air bubbles from the channels
