Application
チマ-ゼは、アンジオテンシン IIの産生とbig endothelinの切断に関与しています。また、血管増殖、心筋梗塞および皮膚炎に関与する可能性が研究により示されています。
ヒトキマーゼは、心臓リモデリングにおけるTGF-β/Smadシグナル伝達経路に対するPanax notoginseng（サンシチニンジン）の花抽出物の作用を評価するための研究で使用されてきました。また、ストレプトゾトシン処理ヒトキマーゼ遺伝子導入マウスにおける血糖値と生存率を調べるための研究でも使用されてきました。
Biochem/physiol Actions
この酵素は直ちにアンジオテンシンIとアンジオテンシンIIへと変化します。酵素活性の最適pHは7.5～9.0です。酵素活性は、ダイズ由来トリプシンインヒビター、フッ化フェニルメチルスルホニル、およびキモスタチンにより阻害されます。
General description
キマーゼは、主にマスト細胞にみられるカテプシンG様S1セリンプロテアーゼです。分子量は約30 kDaですが、SDS-PAGEでは約37 kDaに見えます。

1 unitは、pH 7.8、25°C、1分間で、1 μmoleのN-ベンゾイル-L-チロシンエチルエステル(BTEE)を加水分解します。酵素活性の測定に使用される測定用バッファーには、27 mMのTris-HCl、pH 7.8と、150 mMのNaClおよび0.43 mMのBTEEが含まれます。
