General description
環状ペプチドであるカルシトニン遺伝子関連ペプチド（CGRP）は、カルシトニン／CGRP遺伝子複合体でコードされるペプチドの小ファミリーに属します。カルシトニン／CGRP遺伝子複合体は、次の2つの型のCGRPをコードする2つ以上の遺伝子で構成されます。α-CGRP（CGRP-I）およびβ-CGRP（CGRP-II）。CGRPは甲状腺がんおよび甲状腺髄様がんの濾胞C細胞においてカルシトニンと共に合成され、これらの細胞に共局在します。CGRPは、中枢神経系および末梢神経系に広く分泌する神経ペプチドであるという見解が主流です。

ウサギで産生される抗カルシトニン遺伝子関連ペプチド抗体は、次の用途に使用されています。

ウサギ由来の抗カルシトニン遺伝子関連ペプチド抗体は、1：200の希釈で三叉神経節細胞培養の免疫組織化学に、1：500の希釈でマウス肺切片の免疫細胞化学に使用されました。
Biochem/physiol Actions
CGRPは、特に自律機能（心血管、呼吸、消化管、味覚、食物摂取、睡眠などの機能）および辺縁系機能の調整において、神経伝達物質または神経調整物質として働くと考えられています。CGRPは、おそらく、サブスタンスPと共に神経原性炎症の媒介および末梢神経系を介する疼痛刺激伝達に関与します。
カルシトニン遺伝子関連ペプチドは、受容体活性調節タンパク質（RAMP）1、-2、-3に結合するGタンパク質共役型受容体です。CLRは、肥満、糖尿病、骨粗鬆症、片頭痛、心血管系疾患などの疾病に関係しています。
抗カルシトニン遺伝子関連ペプチドは、CGRP（ラット）と反応します。CGRP（ヒト）およびβ-CGRP（ヒト）との交差反応性が認められています。
Physical form
保存剤として0.1%のアジ化ナトリウムを含む液体の形で供給します。
Preparation Note
脱脂
連続して使用する場合は2～8°Cで保存します。長期保存する場合は、溶液をワーキングアリコートに分けて冷凍できます。凍結・解凍の反復や、自動霜取り冷凍庫での保管は推奨されません。長期保管によりわずかな濁りが見られる場合は、遠心分離によって溶液を清澄してから使用します。
