スリンダク硫化物は、COX-1に選択性のある非ステロイド性抗炎症化合物です。Raf-1のRas活性化の阻害剤です。CDC25によるRasのヌクレオチド交換を障害し、p120GAPによるGTPのRas加水分解を促進させます。スリンダクの活性代謝産物です。また、ヒト前立腺がん細胞においてCOX-1とCOX-2に依存しないメカニズムを介して増殖を阻害し、アポトーシスを誘導することも確認されています。スリンダク硫化物は、増殖抑制効果とアポトーシス効果を持つ鎮痛剤です。ヒト結腸がん細胞においてシクロオキシゲナーゼ-2の発現と活性を阻害し、大腸腺腫症患者における腫瘍量を低下させます。
