Biochem/physiol Actions
アポトランスフェリン（aTF）は内在性鉄キレーターであり、遊離鉄を捕捉して有毒な活性酸素種（ROS）の形成を予防することで宿主内で保護作用を発揮します。サラセミアに対する治療効果を示します。鉄の放出後、受容体に結合したアポトランスフェリンは、リソソームに運ばれて分解されるかわりに、細胞表面に到達します。細胞表面は中性pHで、それによりアポトランスフェリンの受容体からの放出が促進され、そこでも循環して他の鉄に結合して、細胞への鉄の送達を再度行います。
