Application
Daidzein USP reference standard, intended for use in specified quality tests and assays as specified in the USP compendia. Also, for use with USP monographs such as:
- Red Clover Tablets
- Red Clover Aerial Parts Isoflavone Aglycones Dry Extract
- Powdered Red Clover
- Red Clover
- Soy Isoflavones Capsules
- Soy Isoflavones Tablets
- Powdered Red Clover Extract
Biochem/physiol Actions
Soy isoflavone daidzein protects against oxidative damage in liver cells induced by 7,12-dimethylbenz[a]anthracene (DMBA). Catalase and superoxide dismutase activity, down-regulated by DMBA, was restored by daidzein.
