General description

Nonanal is a volatile organic compound with sweet orange and rose flavor. It is found in the essential oils of cinnamon, lemongrass, milkweed, rose, pine, and citrus oil.

Application

Nonanal can be used as a flavoring agent in the food, and cosmetic industries. It is also used to improve rose-like odor in a variety of perfumery products.

Other Notes

Natural occurrence: Apple, avocado, balck currants, cooked beef, cucumber, fish, grapefruit, lemon, lime, mandarin, orange and peach.
