General description

Certified pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to in-house working standards. Tretinoin is a medication used for the treatment of severe cystic acne. The drug acts by regulating epithelial cell growth and differentiation, sebum production, collagen synthesis and keratinization of the skin.

Application

Tretinoin may be used as a pharmaceutical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in pharmaceutical formulations by chromatography techniques.
These Secondary Standards are qualified as Certified Reference Materials. These are suitable for use in several analytical applications including but not limited to pharma release testing, pharma method development for qualitative and quantitative analyses, food and beverage quality control testing, and other calibration requirements.

Biochem/physiol Actions

L′acide tout-−trans−rétinoïque (ATRA) est un ligand du récepteur de l′acide rétinoïque (RAR) et du récepteur X de rétinoïdes (RXR). Une fois liés, le RAR et le RXR agissent comme facteurs de transcription qui contrôlent la croissance et la différenciation des cellules normales et malignes. Les cytochromes P450 (CYP) catalysent la 4-hydroxylation de l′ATRA. L′acide rétinoïque conditionne la différenciation des cellules souches embryonnaires en neurones.
Ligand du récepteur de l′acide rétinoïque (RAR) et du récepteur X de rétinoïdes (RXR) ; conditionne la différenciation des cellules souches embryonnaires en neurones.
