Application

Daidzein USP reference standard, intended for use in specified quality tests and assays as specified in the USP compendia. Also, for use with USP monographs such as:

  • Red Clover Aerial Parts Isoflavone Aglycones Dry Extract
  • Powdered Red Clover
  • Red Clover
  • Soy Isoflavones Capsules
  • Soy Isoflavones Tablets
  • Powdered Red Clover Extract

Biochem/physiol Actions

Soy isoflavone daidzein protects against oxidative damage in liver cells induced by 7,12-dimethylbenz[a]anthracene (DMBA). Catalase and superoxide dismutase activity, down-regulated by DMBA, was restored by daidzein.
