Tryptic Soy Agar - Ready-to-use Settle Plates

Tryptic Soy Agar + LT + Cephase - ICR in 90 mm settle plates (non-lockable) is designed for the determination of the total aerobic microbial count in air via active or passive air monitoring as well as fingerprints of personnel in isolators and clean rooms of sterile production. It is a complex medium for cultivation and isolation of a wide range of bacteria, yeasts and molds. The formulation of the Soybean Casein-Digest medium contains combination of casein and soy peptones supplying organic nitrogen, particularly amino acids and longer-chained peptides. Sodium chloride maintains the osmotic equilibrium and the medium is supplemented with pyruvate to inactivate residues of hydrogen peroxide. Lecithin and polysorbate 80 (Tween^®) are neutralizers to inactive the active agents of disinfectants such as Alcohol (70% ethanol or isopropyl alcohol), Dichloroisocyanurate, Glucoprotamine, Peracetic acid, Phenolic compounds, quaternary ammonium compounds and Biguanides. The combination of a specific broad spectrum cephalosporinase and penicillinase results in the inactivation of β-lactam antibiotics such as penicillins and cephalosporins and enabling efficient growth of microorganismen in the presence of β-lactam antibiotics.

Tryptic Soy Agar (TSA, Soybean Casein Digest Agar) is a complex medium for cultivation and isolation of a wide range of bacteria, yeasts and molds. The media finds its application in environmental monitoring by determining the total aerobic microbial count in air through active or passive air monitoring as well as fingerprints of personnel in isolators and clean rooms.
