SIGMAのアネキシンV-Cy3キットは、アポトーシス細胞に結合したアネキシンVを蛍光顕微鏡で検出することができます。キットでは、アネキシンVの標識体として蛍光色素であるCy3.18を利用しています。Cy3.18は、顕微鏡下でFITC標識体よりも鮮やかな蛍光を発します。また、キットに用意された非蛍光性化合物の6-カルボキシフルオレセイン二酢酸(6-CFDA)は、細胞内に取り込まれると生細胞中のエステラーゼにより加水分解されて蛍光性の6-カルボキシフルオレセインとなることから、細胞生存の指標となります。これを組み合わせることにより、初期アポトーシス細胞(アネキシンV陽性, 6-CFDA陽性)、ネクローシス細胞(アネキシンV陽性, 6-CFDA陰性)、生細胞(アネキシンV陰性、6-CFDA陽性)を区別することも可能です。
