Application
ブタの心臓由来のグルタミン酸ピルビン酸トランスアミナーゼは、ポリエチレングリコール（PEG）水溶液中の L-乳酸濃度を測定するために使用されてきました。
Biochem/physiol Actions
GPT は、α-ケトグルタル酸とアラニンを、グルタミン酸とピルビン酸に可逆的に転移させる触媒として機能します。また、アミノ酸の代謝と糖新生においても重要な役割を果たしています。
グルタミン酸ピルビン酸トランスアミナーゼ(GPT)は、体内の大部分の細胞に局在しますが、肝臓に最高濃度で認められます。肝細胞壊死後の血液におけるGPTの放出による肝疾患のマーカーとして利用されています。
