Biochem/physiol Actions

メトロニダゾールは、嫌気性菌が細胞内でメトロニダゾールを活性型に還元することができるため、嫌気性菌に選択的なプロドラッグです。還元されたメトロニダゾールはDNAに共有結合し、そのらせん構造を破壊し、DNA鎖切断を誘発し、細菌の核酸合成を阻害します。細菌細胞死が生じます。
