パルミトイルエタノールアミド（PEA）は、エタノールアミンとパルミチン酸の天然型脂肪酸アミドです。ダイズ、卵黄、およびその他多くの食物源で認められます。PEAは、内因性のカンナビノイド受容体アゴニストです。ペルオキシソーム増殖因子活性化受容体α（PPAR-α）リガンドです。PEAには抗炎症、抗アレルギー、神経保護、鎮痛作用があります。脂質メディエータのクラスおよびN-アシルエタノールアミンファミリーに属しています。PEAは活性化肥満細胞からの炎症促進性メディエータの放出を阻害し、神経損傷部位における活性化肥満細胞の動員を防止します。
