腫瘍細胞内のプロトポルフィリンIXのレベルが正常細胞よりも上昇するのは、代謝異常が原因です。

General description

プロトポルフィリンIXは、テトラピロールの一種であるポルフィリンファミリーに属します。プロトポルフィリンIXは鉄イオンを含まないヘミンで、本質的に両親媒性です。プロトポルフィリンIXはヘムの生合成経路におけるヘムの前駆体です。
プロトポルフィリンIXは、ヘムを赤色にしている血液中の主要なポルフィリンで、プロトポルフィリノーゲンIXオキシダーゼの存在下でプロトポルフィリノーゲンIXから合成されます。
