Biochem/physiol Actions
Y-39983 is a potent and selective Rho-kinase (ROCK) inhibitor (IC50s = 3.6 nM). Y-39983 is 10 fold more potent in promoting the outgrowth of neurites in cultured retinal slices and axonal regeneration in crushed optic nerve models than Y-27632. Y-39983 act also as an activator of the neuroprotective Parkin-mediated mitophagy pathway.

Human pluripotent stem cells (hPSCs) hold great promise for regenerative medicine and biopharmaceutical applications. Currently, optimal culture and efficient expansion of large amounts of clinical-grade hPSCs are critical issues in hPSC-based therapies. Conventionally, hPSCs are propagated as colonies on both

To discover novel therapies that lower IOP by increasing aqueous humor outflow facility, ex vivo ocular perfusion systems provide a valuable tool. However, currently available designs are limited by their throughput. Here we report the development of a compact, scalable

The accumulation of damaged mitochondria causes the death of dopaminergic neurons. The Parkin-mediated mitophagy pathway functions to remove these mitochondria from cells. Targeting this pathway represents a therapeutic strategy for several neurodegenerative diseases, most notably Parkinson's disease. We describe a
