Application

Streptomyces orientalis由来のバンコマイシン塩酸塩は、次の用途に使用されています。
  • Streptomyces coelicolor最小発育阻止濃度（MIC）のスクリーニングにおいて抗生物質として。
  • Leishmania感染スナバエの処理に。
  • 喘息誘発マウスの複合抗生物質治療に。

Biochem/physiol Actions

バンコマイシンは、メチシリン抵抗性Staphylococcus aureus （MRSA）感染症およびシャント関連ブドウ球菌性脳室炎の治療に使用されます。バンコマイシンにより、アナフィラキシー様の過敏反応およびレッドマン症候群が生じることがあります。バンコマイシンは、血小板減少症の治療にも使用されており、その使用により好酸球増加症と全身症状を伴う薬物反応（DRESS）が誘発されます。
作用機序：NAM/NAG-ペプチドの末端のD-アラニル-D-アラニン部分の取り込みを阻害します。

抗菌スペクトル：グラム陽性菌に対して作用
