General description
エラスターゼは、240のアミノ酸残基から成り、4つのジスルフィド架橋を含む、単一のポリペプチド鎖です。分子質量は約25.9 kDaです。この酵素は不活性の酵素前駆体であるプロエラスターゼとして合成され、これがトリプシンによりN末端基でタンパク質限定加水分解されることにより、活性型に変換されます。
Application
ブタ膵臓由来のエラスターゼは、
- 細胞培養技法

Biochem/physiol Actions
エラスターゼはエラスチン(特異的な弾性線維タンパク質)を加水分解し、ヘモグロビン、カゼイン、フィブリンを消化します。
伸長過程に関与する組織のマトリックス構成成分であるエラスチンを分解する酵素です。広範な特異性を有するセリン・プロテアーゼです。小分子量の疎水性アミノ酸、例えばイソロイシン (Ile)、グリシン (Gly)、アラニン (Ala)、セリン (Ser)、バリン (Val)、およびロイシン (Leu)などのカルボキシル側でタンパク質を切断します。この酵素は、アミドおよびN-ベンゾイル-L-アラニン・メチル・エステルなどのエステルも加水分解します。
