Application
Tetracycline hydrochloride USP reference standard, intended for use in specified quality tests and assays as specified in the USP compendia. Also, for use with USP monographs such as:

- Tetracycline Hydrochloride Tablets
- Tetracycline Hydrochloride Ophthalmic Ointment
- Tetracycline Hydrochloride Soluble Powder
- Tetracycline Hydrochloride and Novobiocin Sodium Tablets
Biochem/physiol Actions
作用機序：テトラサイクリンは受動的に細胞膜中のタンパク質チャネルを通して拡散し、30Sリボソームに結合し、mRNA-リボソーム複合体上の受容体部位へのアミノアシルtRNAのアクセスを妨げることにより、タンパク質合成を阻害します。またテトラサイクリンは、細菌の50Sリボソームサブユニットに結合し、膜を変化させ、菌体からの細胞内成分の漏出も引き起こします。阻害効果が洗浄により回復可能であることから、テトラサイクリンは可逆的に結合する抗生物質であり、非可逆的に結合する薬剤ではないこと、これが抗菌作用の原因であることが示唆されます。
耐性の機序：細胞壁の浸透性が消失することで効果は不活性化されます。
抗菌性スペクトル：グラム陽性およびグラム陰性細菌に対し広範囲な抗菌活性があります。
