Biochem/physiol Actions
イムノグロブリンA（IgA）は主として粘膜分泌物中に存在します。IgAは2つのサブクラス（IgA1、IgA2）として存在します。動物のIgAは二量体ですが、ヒトIgAは単量体です。IgAは、IgA受容体Fcフラグメント（FCAR）との相互作用を通して吸入した病原体に対する免疫応答を誘起します。 B1リンパ球によって作り出される分泌型IgA（S-IgA）は食作用と白血球呼吸バーストにスイッチを入れます。 S-IgAはポリマーとして存在し、一次防御の成否を左右する重要な役割を担います。母乳、特に初乳の IgAレベルが高いことが乳児に免疫保護を与えています。IgAが欠乏すると感染症への罹患リスクが高くなります。IgA腎障害、IgA 骨髄腫を発症すると腎臓内のIgAレベルが高くなります。 セリアック病患者の体内にはIgAの自己抗体が存在します。
