      DescriptionA peptide derived from the N-terminus of glycogen synthase kinase-3 (GSK-3) that represents the sequence surrounding the serine residues (Ser21 in GSK-3α and Ser9 in GSK-3β) that are phosphorylated in vivo by MAP kinase activated protein kinase-1 (MAPKAP kinase-1) and p70 ribosomal S6 kinase (p70S6k). Functions as a natural substrate for Akt (protein kinase B) in the presence of ATP. Displays similar specificities for PKBα, PKBβ, and PKBγ (Km = 4 µM). Also serves as a substrate for MAPKAP kinase-1, p70S6k, and serum and glucocorticoid-inducible kinase-like kinase (SGKL) in in vitro kinase assays.
