Recombinant, human ubiquitin conjugating enzyme 5b fused to GST and expressed in E. coli. E2s are a family of ubiquitin carrier proteins that transfer ubiquitin to the ε-lysine of proteins designated for degradation. UbcH5b is a human homolog of the yeast UBC4/5 family which has been shown to play many important regulatory roles in inflammation and cancer.
