DescriptionPurified rabbit polyclonal antibody. Recognizes the ~55 kDa long form of human FLIP (FLIPL).
BackgroundFLIP (FLICE-inhibitory protein) interacts with the Fas-associating protein FADD and with caspases 8 and 10 (FLICE), and potently inhibits apoptosis induced by death receptors CD95, TNFR1, DR3, and TRAIL-R. FLIP contains two death effector domains and a caspase-like domain, but lacks the catalytic active site and substrate binding pocket found in caspases. FLIP is expressed as both a long (FLIPL) and short (FLIPS) form.
