Iduronic acid-containing mucopolysaccharide abundant in skin, arterial walls, and heart valves. Shown to inhibit both Gpp(NH)p- and FSK-stimulated adenylate cyclase activity in rat hepatic membrane preparations and act as an active mediator of fibroblast growth factor-2 responsiveness in wound healing via FGF-2 affinity interaction (KD 2.48 µM).
